Be perfectly Whelmed

A unique destination deserves a different kind of brand refresh. First, we created an original emotion, and then we shaped a story around it.

“I need a vacation from my vacation” is far too common of a thought (and tweet). And Kissimmee, a quirky Florida city has long been seen as merely a gateway to other attractions when really it’s the ideal destination with its perfect blend of relaxing and exciting activities. So we introduced “Whelmed”—a new feeling that exists only in Kissimmee (and okay, one we admittedly invented). We launched our Be perfectly Whelmed campaign with Experience Kissimmee in an unconventional docu-style short. Finding Whelmed, made with filmmaker Tyler Measom joins a travel show’s crew as they go in search of their host who’s gone AWOL since landing in Kissimmee. Viewers get to see the sights and discover the meaning of “Whelmed” as the behind-the-scenes style story unfolds. The film was released on findingwhelmed.com (a section of Experience Kissimmee’s site) and Amazon Prime Video. Trailers were featured on sites like YouTube, BuzzFeed and USA Today.
